|
Situated at 14 Norman Lindsay Crescent, Faulconbridge, the Norman Lindsay Galley is a key property in the portfolio of the National Trust of Australia (NSW) and attracts some 30,000 visitors per year. The house and grounds were both the workplace and home of one of Australia’s most significant artists. It was here that Lindsay created etchings, oils, watercolours, and sculptures, and where he wrote the children’s classic, The Magic Pudding. The recent renovation of a contemporary cottage in the extensive grounds of the Norman Lindsay Gallery allows visitors to enjoy a short break in a picturesque and inspiring location. It comes fully equipped with a kitchen and laundry, allowing for extended stays. The property is fully fitted out with bed linen and cooking utensils to ensure visitors can self cater if they wish. Meals can also be obtained from the Norman Lindsay Café, located within the grounds. Dining opportunities in the nearby Springwood town centre are only a short drive away. “The Cottage” is equipped with a double bed, and a fold-up bed is available upon request to accommodate a child. Over the years, Norman Lindsay transformed his large estate, adding classical colonnades and a Roman courtyard to the house, and sculpting nymphs, satyrs and fountains to embellish the grounds. The extensive grounds with statuary and marked bush walks are available to guests at “The Cottage”.
