Opera at Golden Vale - SOLD OUT

The National Trust of Australia (NSW) and Pacific Opera proudly present “Opera at Golden Vale”. This unique event will be held for the first time at the immaculate property “Golden Vale”.  With Golden Vale closed to the public, it’s a wonderful opportunity to come and discover a hidden treasure of the Southern Highlands. With performances from Pacific Opera, guests are invited to take in this amazing estate at dusk, enjoy local food and wines, take part in silent auctions and raffles all while supporting the important work of the National Trust of Australia (NSW). This is truly an event not to be missed!

Pacific Opera provides performance opportunities and professional development for talented emerging Australian opera singers. Through participation in its annual program young artists are able to remain in Australia and fully develop their potential under the supervision of practising industry professionals.

Performers  

Katie Connor - soprano
Katie completed a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium in 2005, was a finalist in the Opera & Arts Support Group Scholarship 2008 and in 2009 sang in Pacific Opera’s La sonnambula. Katie is a 2009 Pacific Opera Telstra Wholesale Young Artist.

Naomi Johns - soprano
Naomi toured Australasia with Opera Australia’s My Fair Lady and she was a finalist in the 2009 McDonalds Operatic Aria Award. She is a 2009 Pacific Opera Telstra Wholesale Young Artist and performed in their production of La sonnambula.

Kerry Nicholson - soprano
Kerry has performed professionally with Cantillation, Opera Australia, Rockdale Opera and the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra. Awards include 2006 Australian National Operatic Aria and 2007 Goethe institute Arts Scholarship. She is a 2009 Pacific Opera Telstra Wholesale Young Artist.

Anna Yun - mezzo
Born in Siberia recent performances include the title role in Scarlatti’s Fede and Lady Billows in Albert Herring for Sydney Conservatorium, Teresa in La sonnambula for Pacific Opera, and concerts for 2MBS FM. She is a 2009 Pacific Opera Telstra Wholesale Young Artist.

Warren Fisher - tenor
Warren has taught music, conducted bands and choirs, performed extensively with Captain Cook Cruises, played Sid, the serpent who wanted to Sing for Oz Opera, was a full time member of the Opera Australia Chorus from 2004-2009 and for Pacific Opera has sung the role of Midas in Gorgeous Galatea as well as the Elvino in La sonnambula.

Randall Stewart
Randall has been performing for Opera Australia in their NSW School’s Company production of Rossini’s Cinderella. He has also worked with Victorian Opera, Co-Opera, and Sydney Symphony. Randall is a 2009 Pacific Opera Testra Wholesale Young Artist.

Glenn Amer - Pianist
A highly versatile musician, Glenn’s repertoire ranges from opera to jazz, piano to organ and voice. Glenn travels the world as a headline act on the finest shipping lines and regularly appears in concert with Yvonne Kenny and David Hobson as well as many other equally renowned singers and instrumentalists.

Event Details

• There will be plenty of parking at the property for a gold coin donation going to a local volunteer Fire Brigade.
• This is an outdoor event. Please not that this event will proceed rain or shine and no refunds will be given.
• This is a strictly NO BYO alcohol event. Wine and food will be available for purchase on the day.
• A silent auction and raffle will take place on the day with ‘money can’t buy’ items.
• VIP tickets are closest to the stage and include a free event program. Seats are provided in the VIP section, so no need to bring your own. VIP tickets are limited to 50.
• All other tickets will be for space on the grassed area. There are NO seats provided. BYO low deck chair or rug. Please be considerate when setting up your seats so as to not affect other patrons sight lines.
• Pre-purchase tickets only. No ticket sales will be available on the day
• All bookings made by the 16 October (early bird) will receive a free $50 gift voucher for the National Trust Wine Service (one voucher per booking).
• Only 250 tickets available.
