Historian Dr Lisa Murray of the National Trust Cemeteries committee will present an illustrated talk “Symbolic Gestures: memorial designs and symbolism” on 6 March at the National Trust Centre. She will discuss some of the designs and symbols found on cemetery monuments in NSW, and the National Trust’s online master list of cemeteries in NSW will be formally launched.

On 15 March the National Trust will also be running a tour of Gore Hill Cemetery, a unique memorial cemetery with Victorian landscaping and many interesting monuments, some relocated from earlier Sydney cemeteries.
