Treasures of the Trust - Table Talk: lunch with Margaret Fulton
This exciting new series celebrates our National Trust Living Treasures by giving an insight into their lives and passions when some of them host events to help raise funds for the National Trust.
The first event in the series, Table Talk: lunch with Margaret Fulton, was a huge success. Food journalist and TV presenter Joanna Savill asked Margaret about her life, her fascinating history travelling around collecting recipes, and her career as one of the first cookbook writers in Australia. Margaret delighted the audience of over 100 guests with her tales of why she is still “hot” and credited her success with encouraging women to try new recipes and ways of cooking, as well as introducing a variety of new ways of cooking food to Australia, such as using a wok.
Held at the Tearoom, Queen Victoria Building, guests were then invited to join Margaret in a lunch of her choice, celebrating Australian food over the last 70 years. Delicious chicken, asparagus soup, and rhubarb tart were all on the menu, and the food was fabulous!
More Treasures events will be held throughout 2007. Keep checking the website to see who will be coming up next!
