National Trust Corporate Breakfast Series - Justice Michael Kirby AC CMG

Justice Michael Kirby AC CMG

Justice Kirby at the Tearoom, Queen Victoria Building

Over 150 people attended the final Corporate Breakfast for 2007, a fantastic event with special guest speaker Justice Michael Kirby, Justice of the High Court and one of Australia’s Living National Treasures.

Introduced by Trust President Professor John Niland, who has known Justice Kirby for many years, Justice Kirby discussed the lessons he had learned from a life in the High Court – from the reasons behind interpretations of the Constitution, to the importance of having people understand why judges make certain decisions. This was a fascinating talk, and a wonderful end to the year’s Breakfast Series.

Special thanks again to Ipoh and The Tearoom, Queen Victoria Building, for the beautiful venue provided for our breakfasts and a very generous raffle prize.

Please stay tuned for the 2008 Series, kicking off in February. For more information or to join the mailing list, please email kwestaway@nsw.nationaltrust.org.au.
