Black tie fundraiser and auction at Government House 23 May 2007
National Trust puts ‘green sheen’ on black tie fundraiser at Government House
The launch of the Trust’s new Sustainability Program at Government House on Wednesday 23 May was a very successful event, raising a total of $120,000.
Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO Governor of New South Wales and Patron of the National Trust hosted the dinner in the beautiful ballroom of Government House.
95 people enjoyed great food and wine – Virginia Trioli from 702 ABC Sydney was MC, Tim Goodman, CEO of Bonhams and Goodman did the auctioneering and Ambre Hammond, a young concert pianist performed Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody with a flair and energy that was hugely appreciated by those present. Tina Jackson outlined the Sustainability initiative with a powerful presentation that left no doubt about the Trust’s intentions to pursue retro fitting of our historic properties and set up an environmental education centre.
Sincere thanks to Virginia, Tim and Ambre for donating their time and services and to the following for donating items for the auction:
