Belong to Tomorrow: Bequest programme
You can make a difference today for tomorrow
Bequests, or gifts by Will, have become increasingly important in supporting the National Trust’s work in advocacy, conservation and education.
By making a provision for the National Trust in your Will, you will be providing a lasting gift for future generations.
Every gift, whether large or small, is welcomed and valued.
You can give a gift that lasts many lifetimes
Your gift can make a significant difference
A bequest is one of the most effective ways in which you can help to ensure the future success of the Trust.
Your gift will enable the National Trust to continue its work in the following Core Programmes:
- Maintain and provide community access to the National Trust’s portfolio of heritage places, buildings of interest, nature reserves and trails.
- Care for the National Trust’s collection of works of art, furniture, decorative arts and other materials that relate to historic properties.
- Implement and resource interpretation, education and learning programmes to support curriculum guidelines and meet the needs of communities.
- Protect the National Trust’s reserves natural reserves that contain precious flora and fauna and ensure that their environment and habitats are protected for future generations.
Your promise of future support is deeply appreciated:
If you are considering a gift to the Trust in your Will, or if you have made a gift to the Trust in your Will, the Trust’s Bequest Manager would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you.
The Bequest Manager can be contacted on 1800 650 093 or (02) 9258 0123 or by email on bequests@nationaltrust.com.au
Your privacy will at all times be respected and your discussions with the Bequest Manager will remain confidential to the Trust.
Your solicitor or Trustee Company will help with the wording of a bequest to the National Trust. The following is a guide:
“I GIVE to THE NATIONAL TRUST OF AUSTRALIA (NEW SOUTH WALES), for its general purposes and free of all duties,
(a) The whole (or x%) of the residue of my Estate; OR
(b) the sum of $ (x); OR
(c) (details of specific assets eg shares; real estate; objects),
for which an official receipt of the Trust will be a sufficient discharge for my executor.”
Alternatively, you may wish to stipulate that your gift is to be applied to a specific purpose of the Trust rather than for its general purposes.
