A store of treasures to be conserved
will you assist in bringing these paintings to light

The National Trust works to conserve twenty magnificent artworks. The conservation of this collection of artworks celebrates the art of John Glover the ‘father of Australian landscape painting’ and the life and work of Jessie Scarvell, an accomplished nineteenth century female Australian artist.

This conservation project provides an unprecedented opportunity for the National Trust to honour and promote Australian art, and to continue the celebration of artists in our nation’s history.

Sydney women artists of this period have not received great attention and an exhibition of Scarvell’s work would contribute new research to the area. An amount of $40,000 is needed to conserve these twenty works and their frames so that they can be appreciated by the public for the first time in many years. Your help will ensure that these paintings will be able to be conserved for research and exhibition.
