HOW TO APPLY:
Any person including any author, proprietor or authorised agent may apply for an award. Your entry must specify the category of the award. Your entry should be clearly labeled specifying your name together with the category of the award for which it is submitted.
Entries close Monday 6 February 2012. Entries must be mailed (postmarked) or couriered AND emailed by midnight Monday 6 February 2012.
1. Fill out the relevant Entry Form by clicking on the enter now button at the bottom of this page. This will be sent to the judges for pre-reading and will include:
- A typewritten synopsis of the project (no more than 300 words or 1 page maximum),
- A typewritten statement addressing the above assessment criteria (2 pages maximum),
- Additional short answer statistical questions,
- Any additional supporting material (1 page maximum and not mandatory), and
- Attach a maximum of two (2) images no larger than 1MGB each.
2. Send two (2) hard copies of your supplementary material / complete entry by mail or courier to the address below by the due date. The completed entries may include:
- A printed copy of the completed online entry form including additional support information if completed online,
- A copy of the completed work (video format, cassette, computer disk, CD, book, publication, article etc if applicable),
- Copies of any press clippings,
- Copies of printed colour photos showing the scope of your project (eg before and after shots). Please supply the name of the photographer if not the person entering the submission, and
- A disc containing photos/images relating to the entry. These should be high resolution (300dpi).
3. Nominations cannot be faxed.
4. Please include your payment email with your complete entry.
5. You may enter as many categories as you wish. Each entry shall be subject to the conditions of entry and a separate entry fee must be paid.
6. No responsibility for loss or misdirection of entries will be accepted by the National Trust.
7. Please keep a copy of your nomination and support material for your own files as copies of the nominations cannot be returned.

PRESENTATION OF ENTRY:
Your entry should be presented typewritten, single-sided on A4 paper. All entries should be presented with one unbound original and one bound duplicate (for display and judging purposes) clearly labeled with your name and the category name. All enclosures (books, cassettes, samples) must be labeled similarly. The official entry form must accompany the submission (both the original and duplicate copies).
ELIGIBILITY OF ENTRY:
To be eligible to enter the National Trust Heritage Award, you must be a National Trust Member or join to become a member – the National Trust membership must be in the name of the actual sub-category i.e. corporate/community group/individual who is submitting the entry. The joining fee of $30 is waived for all Award entrants. Corporate/government and community entrants’ membership is $95.00 per annum, individual entrants membership is $65.00 with a concessional rate of $45.00 for students or seniors. Full membership benefits apply. If financial hardship would prevent you from entering the Awards, please contact the Festival Organiser.
Your project must have been completed during the 2011 calendar year and the project/activity must have been carried out, published or have been available in New South Wales.
ENTRY FEE:
There is an administration charge of $98.00 for all corporate, business, and government department entries, and a $65.00 (inclusive of GST) charge for individuals, community groups, associations and registered charities. Cheques should be made payable to The National Trust of Australia (NSW). Payments must be received with your entry or with a copy of your entry form if completing online.
JUDGES’ DECISION:
The judges’ decision is final. No communications will be entered regarding the judging of the Awards and judges may, without notice, add to or alter the criteria for the entry. Judges have the right to change categories for any entry which in the opinion of the judges is better suited to be judged in an alternate category.
ENTRIES WILL BE KEPT BY THE TRUST:
All entries and supporting materials will be retained by the National Trust and may be used for promotional and other purposes at the discretion of the National Trust. By entering these awards, you agree to the use of your entry for promotional purposes.
DEADLINE:
The entry deadline is 5pm Monday 6 February 2012. Late entries will not be accepted nor will additions to the original entry. Presentation of Awards will take place over a luncheon ceremony on Monday 16 April 2012 in the Grand Ballroom, the Westin, Sydney, 1 Martin Place.
